CATA sends its warmest congratulations to Mr Sabin Samitah on his appointment on 12 December 2016 as the new CEO of the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia. In that capacity he is also the new President of CATA. Mr Samitah succeeds Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukor Mahfar, whose service with the IRBM has ended.

Mr Samitah started his career with IRBM more than 30 years ago serving in various senior capacities, including Director of several branches as well as Director of the Investigation and Intelligence Centre, State Director, Director of the Revenue Management Department, Deputy CEO (Management) and Deputy CEO (Tax Operations), before his appointment as the new CEO.

Mr Samitah has sent the following message to all CATA members:

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all members of CATA a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May the holiday season be an opportunity to be with families and loved ones and the New Year a celebration of joy.

I look forward to working closely with the Executive Director and the Members of the Management Committee to ensure that CATA continues to play its role in building cooperation amongst members in the years to come.”

On behalf of the Management Committee and the entire CATA membership, the Secretariat conveys deep appreciation to Tan SriDr Mohd Shukor Mahfar for his outstanding contribution to CATA over the years, both as Chairman of CATA's Management Committee and latterly as CATA's President. We wish him a long and happy retirement.
