Participants in the 2019 edition of the highly regarded Senior Leadership Programme (SLP) have now completed the course. This year the group comprised twenty-four senior officials, drawn from twelve tax authorities. (Botswana, Ghana, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Seychelles, Sri Lanka, Tanzania and Uganda).

The programme, which has been designed to equip senior tax officials with the leadership skills necessary to meet current and future challenges facing tax administrations, is split into two parts. Part 1 of this year’s SLP was hosted by the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia during two weeks at the Malaysian Tax Academy, at the end of March. Part 2 of the programme opened in July and was hosted at Her Majesty’s Revenue and Custom’s (HMRC) centres in London and Lincoln, UK.

The successful conclusion of the programme was celebrated during a reception held in Marlborough House, at which the members were joined by their hosts from HMRC and awarded certificates of participation.
