Description: With the growing push for tax administrations to undergo a digital transformation in response to rapid technological advancements, this presentation addressed on digital transformation gaining critical global traction, the transformation and modernization of invoice exchanges in a standard structure manner known as electronic invoicing (e-invoicing). In order to gain an understanding of e-invoicing and its context in Canada, the presentation was structured in two halves. The first-half of this presentation provided an understanding of what e-invoicing is, the considerations and benefits of implementing e-invoicing, and the predominant e-invoicing models adopted globally. The second-half of the presentation offered an overview of the work undertaken by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) with respect to e-invoicing, and the results of CRA’s research will be shared.
